last weekend of Summer...day 1

well, this past was the last weekend of Summer, here in never-stable NewEngland weather. At least, the weather was summer weather, with sunny days & nights that stayed warm. Come Monday, Fall had entered the room, ushering in actually my favorite seasonal weather with warm days & cool nights; weather you can dress for. I will miss this past Summer, as it progressed far too fast, with things un-done, places not visited & days not wholly enjoyed, thanks to a very busy workload. While my work at the BAC will hopefully soon calm, I am teaching 2 classes and dj'ing (in fact, I've been turning down dj gigs like never before!). My Fridays until last week saw the brunt of it all, 9-5 @ the BAC, 6-9 @ Bunker Hill, and 10-2:30 @ the Independent; a schedule I maintained last Spring (albeit one less class taught- I've got another on Tuesdays). Luckily, I had a considerable amount of sick-time & floating holiday time at work that I'd lose if I did not use it before January. So, with 2 exceptions, I will not be working on Fridays (at the BAC)! Hopefully, this time will open up the opportunity to focus on grading, classwork, re-building my mountain bike & doing some long-neglected artwork. This past Friday, I had a doctor's appointment in Union Square, where I hung out afterwards at the amazing Bloc 11 Cafe (very lesbian-y, but great food & coffee in an old bank -incl. vaults-) in their outside garden. Afterwards, I did some house cleaning & class preparation for that night's Sociology class. Following, I dj'ed to an oddly quiet Independent crowd, which was alright, as I knew Saturday was bringing some craziness on its heels....
